The Morris Planning Commission is composed of a seven-member commission appointed by the Morris City Council. All members need to be residents of the City
The term for members is four years staggered with other members.
The Planning Commission is responsible for preparing and from time to time reviewing and updating the City Comprehensive Plan. They prepare a zoning map for the City and the half-mile area beyond the city limits which is in the jurisdiction of the City Council. They review plats and land surveys. They also oversee all requests for conditional use permits and variances.
The Planning Commission meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 5:15 p.m. in Morris City Council Chambers.
