Morris Rental Licensing Program

The City of Morris established a Residential Rental Property Registration & Licensing Ordinance in 1999 which is administered by the Stevens County Housing & Redevelopment Authority (HRA).

All Rental properties must be registered, inspected, and license fees paid before advertising or renting a property.
License will be mailed out once inspections have passed and fees have been paid.
Current licenses must be posted at the property.
An annual license renewal with fees for rental property is required.
Inspections are on a 4-year cycle with first inspection happening upon initial instatement as a rental property.

The goals of the Morris Rental Licensing Program are to:

• Establish strong concepts about both tenant and landlord rights and responsibilities.
